Signature Model 'YMOS'
In collaboration with Tim Schwerdter, also known as YMOS, we proudly present the signature model Pitpit 251 'YMOS'. As Cro's live bassist and guitarist, Tim brought not only his studio and touring perspective, but also his unique style to this exceptional instrument. The light, steamed cherry neck provides remarkably balanced ergonomics, while the pastel purple body gives the bass an irresistible look.
Highlights
The Pitpit 251 Short Scale Bass promises an incredible playing feel. Its wide nut width gives the feeling of playing a long scale bass, despite its compact 31.1" scale length. The alder body in matte cornflower blue is a real eye-catcher together with the neck made of steamed cherry. With 3.6 kg weight and the ergonomically optimized shape, this bass is perfect for long sessions.
Pickups
The Nick Silver Mr. Iggy pickups together with the flexible circuit with four positions produce a wide range of crisp single-coil sounds. The pickups are inspired by the '51 P-Bass pickups.
The Alnico V magnets are blackened and in combination with the covers made of recycled HDPE they give the Short Scale Bass a distinctive look.
Electronics
The switch offers four pickup combinations: Neck solo, neck and bridge parallel in-phase, bridge solo, neck and bridge parallel out-of-phase. The latter position produces a honky sound with very present mids, which with its vintage vibe comes through excellently in the mix.
The switch for selecting the pickups is handy and for better orientation a scale shows the current position.
Wood & Hardware
High-quality hardware such as the Schaller 3D Bass bridge, the weight-optimized HipShot tuners or the handmade brass saddle are explicitly selected and manufactured to ensure the best possible handling and ergonomics.
The body is made of three-piece alder. Neck and fingerboard are made of steamed cherry.
